Alumni Match 2003 Students 30 Alumni 25
A fantastic match, much better than the effort by England against the Welsh earlier in the day! The Annual Dinner the night before, marked by a substantial improvement in the quality of the food, but no change in the amount of beer consumed, did nothing to detract from the quality of this game. The Alumni won the try count 4 to 3, but in the end were beaten by the superior place kicking and the lasting fitness of the Students. However, in contrast to some of the the matches in the past this was a truly competitive game. Who can forget the site of Mick Helm free on the left wing! Next year is the 25th Anniversary of the first Alumni game, and we are hoping that as many of those as possible who have pulled on the Club colours will be able to have a run-out, even if it's only for the 2nd XV. See you next year.
