Alumni Letter 2005

10/09/2005

Dear Alumni

To try and take some of the pressure of Chris and Jon, who have been running the alumni over the past decade, I have volunteered my services to organise the annual alumni match and ball.

Please find attached details of the alumni match and ball as they stand.

What I would really appreciate from everyone who receives this email would a reply with:

  1. Your name (we have several random email addresses and would dearly love to know who you are)
  2. Your current permanent address
  3. Your preferred email address
  4. Your year of graduation

The above will ensure we can keep our records up to date and keep you informed regarding the alumni every year.  Please reply to this even if you know I know who you are….if that makes sense.

Go on – do it now!  Just hit reply on the toolbar.  You'll feel lots better for it.

I also humbly appeal to anyone who has not set up a standing order for £15 per year to do so to support our cause.

Any moneys raised will directly support the alumni and medical student team.  We hope to contribute to tour funds and supply kit – all of which was generously subsidised for us when we played for the club.

Please support us if you haven’t already arranged a standing order

To those that have a standing order – thank you so much for your support.  You are legends.

The account details are:

Notts Medics RUFC Old Boys Account

Sort code 01-02-66

Account number 82944113

Alternatively get back in touch with me and I can forward a direct debit mandate form.

We hope that the amount is affordable.  We are dependent on your good will alone to ensure that our fund remains viable so that we can continue to support the club.

Also a number of newer alumni members have not received their tie – please respond to this email if you require one.

This is all very new territory for me and I would appreciate all suggestions, comments and advice.  This is your club – let us know if there are any ways we can improve things for you.

I recall my days playing for the Notts medics RUFC with a huge smile.  I have made some fantastic friends and continue to do so through the alumni.  It’s a great privilege to be able to support this club and encourage others to enjoy their time playing for the medical school as much as I did.

Yours in rugby,

Giz
